Thank You

Last week a group of students and their teachers visited Landmark High school to give the Latinos in Action and Leadership classes a great "Big Thank You" for the gifts they brought the students of Oakridge at Christmas. The kindness and generosity that was given to our students was overwhelming. Again, Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.

Oakridge Students Go Bowling

Every Friday the students at Oakridge take a field trip. The students are bussed to BYU or to the Provo Rec Center. They bowl, swim and excersie. These activities help with fine and gross motor skills.  These field trips expose our students to the outside world where they benefit from interaction with the general public. Not only are they being taught life and social skills but independance as well.

Oakridge School's #1 Helper

Wesley Brailsford a student in Tasha Lewis' class is Oakridge School's #1 helper. Wesley is always willing to shovel snow, spread salt or whatever needs to be done, especially when it is snowing.  He braves the cold tempatures in order that everyone entering or leaving the school is safe, and he does it all with a big smile on his face.  A GREAT BIG thank you to Wesley.

Oakridge School Christmas Play

Submitted by teresa.gordon on

Oakridge School and Springville High School are preparing for our annual collaborative Christmas play.  On Monday December 16th at 7 p.m. they will perform another original story called Catch a Falling Christmas Star.  The story features “animals” from the Hogle Zoo, including a guitar playing platypus.  The Oakridge students are excited to show off their acting chops.  Come to this one night only event.  Don’t miss it or Santa will miss you.
