On Monday night the SHS auditorium was filled with the sound of zoo animals. The annual Oakridge School play, " Catch A Falling Christmas Star" was performed by SHS students and Oakridge Students. The play written by Jason Shelley, Oakridge School, speech/language pathologist.  The play was about a Christmas star that falls from the sky and lands in a zoo. The animals are tasked with returning the Christmas star to the sky before Santa leaves so he can find his way," explained Shelley.   "It's not a program, it's a play. Depending on the ability of the student, they speak into a microphone or activate switches that have voice output. They also participate in the songs through dance. Everyone works hard to have a set, props and real costumes that can help distract the audience who has to wait sometimes for our students to press their switch.  (www.daily herald.com, December 14, 2013 12:15 am  •  Debbie Balzotti - Correspondent)In conjunction with the play, the wonderful parents of Oakridge School sponsored a boutique fundraiser. The fundraiser garnered in excess of $1400 to help with areas of greatest need at Oakridge School. A silent auction of a beautiful quilt, along with arts and crafts made by the students and homemade goodies was also a great success.Oakridge School would like to thank the community for their support. Also, the parents and staff of Oakridge who contributed their time and talents.  We want to give a very big "thank you" to  the Springville High School student council  and art classes who put so much time and effort in making the play a huge success
