Submitted by teresa.gordon on Thu, 01/09/2014 - 10:51

Every Friday the students at Oakridge take a field trip. The students are bussed to BYU or to the Provo Rec Center. They bowl, swim and excersie. These activities help with fine and gross motor skills.  These field trips expose our students to the outside world where they benefit from interaction with the general public. Not only are they being taught life and social skills but independance as well.

Wesley Brailsford a student in Tasha Lewis' class is Oakridge School's #1 helper. Wesley is always willing to shovel snow, spread salt or whatever needs to be done, especially when it is snowing.  He braves the cold tempatures in order that everyone entering or leaving the school is safe, and he does it all with a big smile on his face.  A GREAT BIG thank you to Wesley.

Big Pumpkin Skit

We had so much fun acting out the Big Pumpkin for literacy. Tasha’s class helped make and designed the costumes for the skit. All three classes enjoyed taking turns being the witch, mummy, vampire, bat and ghost. As a team we were able to pull the big pumpkin.
