Oakridge Community Council
The School Community Council is a committee formed to help build consistent and effective communication among parents, employees and administrators. The Council allows parents an opportunity to be activly involved in their child's education through helping to establish and emplement educational goals. In this regard, the responsibilities of the School Community Council are advisory in nature. The authority of the Council does not supersede the authority of the principal, the superintendant or the Board of Education.

If you missed Oakridge School's first annual school fundraiser featuring the Piano Guys, you missed an exhilarating and fun filled show. The crowd went wild at the first note from these two musical dynamos! The Piano Guys are a first class act who have become an overnight music sensation due to their populatity on You Tube. Their music ranges from classical numbers to their own original music that kept the audiance begging for more. "What do you get when you combine classical training, hip rhythms, keen song writing skills, slapstick comedy, and a little rock and roll? Jon Schmidt".
On Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 7:00 PM the Piano Guys will perfom a benefit concert at the Springville High School Auditorium. The Piano Guys is an American music duo consisting of Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson. They became famous through YouTube, where they posted videos of renditions and mashes of popular songs accompanied by professional looking video clips.
On Friday, September 23, 2011 the students of Oakridge School took a field trip to American Beauty Academy in Payson. The students were treated to a wash, cut and style by the students at American Beauty Academy.
A new school year has brought new faces and changes to Oakridge School. Dr. Richard Kay, the Principal for five years at Oakridge retired to pursue a life of leisure. Lynn Mecham, newly appointed Assistant Principal of Springville High School now oversees the duties of Principal of Oakridge as well. Mr. Mecham has jumped in with both feet and is sharing his enthusiasm and excitement with the staff and studemts.
The week of May 2 - 5 Oakridge School celebrated Teacher and Staff Appreciation. Each day the staff was suprised with a goody bag filled with treats and other prizes. The staff deorated the door to each classroom as a suprise to their teacher. The week culminated with a luncheon catered by Hickory Kist and a drawing for a beautiful plate and stand won by JoLynn Nielsen.
On Thursday, May 5 the students and staff of Misti Hamaker's class celebrated Jillian Dahle's birthday with a Tea Party. Everyone came in their "best attire" to have tea (apple juice) and crumpets (cake) with the guest oh honor. I full silver tea service adorned the beautifully set table where a lunch of chicken salad crossiants and was served.
A fun time was had by the students of Oakridge as the hunted Easter eggs in their classooms and hallway.
